Martina McBride took over Pacific Amphitheater at The OC Fair the other night with a smashing set that was like cotton candy to our music loving ears! Her powerful vocals sent vibrations throughout the fairground as Martina belted out a pleasing selection of tunes from her novel thick catalogue that included This One's For The Girls, Independence Day, Wrong Baby Wrong and much more! The crowds’ anticipation grew as the sun set at the Orange County Fair’s Pacific Amphitheatre to see country music's leading female vocalist Martina McBride live on stage. Hollywood Teen'Zine was invited to check out this stop on Martina’s tour only to confirm why she is considered a legend in country music amongst her peers and her fans.
The band started rising from the back of the stage followed by a sparkling Martina McBride coming out from the middle of the stage as the notes and vocals blended in perfect harmony on the opening number of her hour and a half long set, Ride. Starting the concert off with a brilliant high note and an energetic song, Martina held all eyes and ears for a night full of her own hits and a few special covers. A little bit of controlled rowdiness followed as Martina brought the crowd up to the next level with When God-Fearin’ Women Get The Blues and the fun-filled, peppy anthem Happy Girls.
Throw in a little Wild Angels and you get the entire crowd on their feet and a little Anyway and they are emotionally vested. Simply put, Martina McBride had the crowd in her hands. Sharing her hits throughout the night, she became one with the crowd offering to share a shoulder and kick back with Independence Day or deliver a much needed pick-me-up with This One’s For The Girls! As if the night couldn't get any better, Martina returned to electrify the house with a spectacular encore of two classic and much loved rock anthems, Living On A Prayer and Summer of '69. Beach balls were bouncing, the crowd was dancing, and the applause was genuine.
The night was filled with fun, getting the chance to see one of the masters of their craft control and connect with a crowd, and Martina was definitely in control throughout the night. The crowd was subdued yet energetic, appreciating and enjoying Martina’s greatness. Her amazing vocals, talented band, and connection with the audience make her concerts a must see for everyone. Whether it is the first time you see Martina live in concert, or the tenth, you can assure yourself that you will get bedazzled every time!
