Justin Bieber filmed segments of his upcoming 3D movie last week at New York City's famed venue Madison Square Garden. The special concert featured guest appearances by Miley Cyrus (performing "Overboard"), Usher (performing "Somebody To Love") and Jaden Smith (performing "Never Say Never"). Paramount Pictures has picked up the distibution rights to the documentary styled feature film following Justin's career and will be directed by Jon Chu (Step Up 3D). The 44th Annual CMA Awards nominations were announced this week and the leading contenders are Miranda Lambert with 9 nominations and Lady Antebellum with 5 nominations. Miranda has been sitting on a high note all year long pounding out several hit songs off her new album "Revelotion," including chart toppers "White Liar" and "The House That Built Me." Her newly released third single "Only Prettier" is following the same pattern and is quickly climbing radio charts acrouss the U.S. Miranda was prectically left speechless upon learning of the nominations she received during this weeks announcement, which included nods in the coveted categories Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year. “They don't even make a word to describe how I feel,” she admitted. “I'm still coming to terms with this.” Funny enough, Miranda will be competing against herself in several categories. When told about this odd coincidence, Lambert exclaimed: “Is that possible? I didn’t even know
that was possible!”

Miranda wasn't the only artist gleaming with joy after the announcements, fellow country stars Lady Antebellum swipped a total of 5 nominations, including Entertainer of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year and Album of the Year. "The
year just keeps getting better and better," said Dave Haywood.
"Charles, Hillary and I are so thankful for our families and also the
family we've made in Nashville within the music industry who continue to
support us on this crazy ride."
"And country radio...and our
fans! They've given us the most incredible life...we definitely
wouldn't be here without them," continued Hillary Scott. "Thanks for
playing our songs and coming out to the shows...and just believing in us
and our music." Country music is known to have the most devoted fans of any genre of
music and draws in hundreds of thousands of fans to the Nashville area
each year for the CMA Music Festival.
The awards ceremony will be hosted for the third
time by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood and broadcast live from the
Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Wednesday, Nov. 10 (8:00-11:00 PM/ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Savannah Outen's latest single "Be Original" has found a place on Radio Disney's Top 30 Countdown. "I wanted to thank you SOOO much for requesting my song," Savannah told her fans on YouTube. To celebrate, Savannah released her original take on the catchy Bruno Mars tune "Just The Way You Are" through her official YouTube channel. Miranda Cosgrove will be making a special visit to New York City on Labor Day (September 6th) to appear and perform three songs from her debut album "Sparks Fly" live on The Today Show. Taylor Swift's new single Mine off her upcoming album Speak Now is spreading like wildfire all over the world and will continue to do so with the music video launch next week. Reaching more than 160 countries around the world, sister networks CMT, MTV, VH1 and MTV International will team up to present the global premiere of Taylor Swift’s new video Mine on Friday, August 27th. The video was filmed in Kennebunk and Kennebunkport, Maine a few months back. Taylor will return to the filming location for a special half-hour concert where she will perform in front of a live audience that will air on CMT and CMT.com. The half-hour live special titled CMT PREMIERES TAYLOR SWIFT "MINE" will debut on August 27th at 8:00 p.m. The special will also include a behind-the-scenes look at the music video as Taylor gives CMT host Katie Cook a tour of the quaint town, offering personal insight into how this latest video came to live.

Chu and the Magical Elves producing team of Jane Lipsitz and Dan Cutforth will join forces to direct and produce superstar-recording artist Justin Bieber’s feature film debut. “When I was approached about doing Justin’s film, I jumped at the opportunity to tell a story with honesty and heart. Most people don’t know that his is a true underdog story, and I hope to tell it in a compelling, genuine way, using all source materials available to convey his tale of becoming an icon for this digital age. This is the story of a new voice continuing the tradition of musicians that defined their generation,” said Director Jon M. Chu. Nickelodeon and Columbia Records announced the release date for the upcoming Big Time Rush debut album titled "B.T.R." The highly anticipated album will be released on October 11, 2010 and in celebration of the release band members Kendall Schmidt, Jason Maslow, Carlos Pena and Logan Henderson will make their network TV debut with a performance on The Today Show. The album will consist of original songs from the series, including their current hit "City Is Ours." Jason Castro won over millions of viewers as a contestant on the seventh season of American Idol, parlaying his substantial singer-songwriter appeal into a third-place runner-up finish. Teenage heartthrob Justin Bieber made a brief appearance in Nashville, Tennessee yesterday to perform at the Bridgestone Arena (formerly the Sommet Center). CMT.com reports that during Justin's soundcheck he was asked who are some of his favorite country music artists and surprised the interviewer by quickly responding with names like Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Martina McBride and Alan Jackson. Shortly after reeling out his faves, Justin performed the first verse of Alan Jackson's hit single "Chattahoochee," a song which topped country music charts a year before he was born. The dates for the 2011 CMA Music Festival were announced this morning. Until recently, the annual festival was best known to fans and artists as Fan Fair which was established in 1972, and over the years it has become the largest fan gathering of country music fans in the world. The Country Music Association is promising that 2011 will feature many great surprises and special events to celebrate the anniversary, which will be held in Nashville, TN Thursday through Sunday, June 9-12, 2011. The infamous four-day ticket packages will go on sale on August 23, 2011 at 10:00 AM/CDT through Ticketmaster.com. These passes will allow fans admission to all four nightly concerts as well as entry into the Nashville Convention Center for artist meet and greets and early admission into the Riverfront Stage. You may want to consider purchasing your tickets to the event early this year as the 2010 tickets sold out prior to the festival.
Zac Efron attended the final night of the musical theatre production of Rent at the Hollywood Bowl where girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens was playing the contraversial role of Mimi Marquez. Halfway through the first act, Vanessa took the stage to perform a provacative dance number during "Out Tonight." One viewer told us that Vanessa made eye contact several times with Zac, who was seated in the front row during the performance. In the middle of Vanessa's dance routine, Zac hopped up out of his seat to give his leading lady a tip, and it wasn't an informational tip rather a gratuity tip that one would leave at a restuarant when the server did a good job! It is rumored that Zac slipped Vanessa a $20 dollar bill, which she welcomed and put down the front of her shirt. One of the theatre goers captured the moment on video, check it out below.

Hey Monday is made up of Cassadee Pope (guitar/lead vocals), Mike Gentile (lead guitar/vocals), Alex Lipshaw (rhythm guitar/vocals) and Michael "Jersey" Moriarty (bass/vocals). Last month in Nashville, country music singer/songwriter Brittini Black packed the Bridgestone Arena wowing fans with an hour long acoustic set performing songs from her debut album Good Happens and even threw in a few new songs including her current single "America." During her set, Brittini debuted a song she had recently finished titled "Looking Up," which was inspired by one of the victims of the Haiti Earthquake. "A woman who was stuck under rubble in Haiti for a week," Brittini explained. "She was singing when she was rescued! She and her husband never lost hope. Amazing what a little faith can do. And the soundtrack CD runs the gamut of Despicable Me from Pharrall to the Unicorn Song by Agnes. Anna Margaret, who recently appeared on the soundtrack for the DCOM Starstruck, recently teamed up with the American Girl company to support the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. This foundation hit close to home for Anna as she recalled what it was like being a children's hospital patient. Now that Hannah Montana has officially wrapped production for good, Miley Cyrus is spending her days focusing on one of the most important parts of her career: giving back to the community. Miley launched her "Get Your Good On" foundation in November 2009 and has since teamed up with the Blessings in a Backpack organization to help provide meals to at-risk public school children nationwide. In addition to providing the school meals, the foundation also focuses on giving healthy and nutritious food packed into "weekend backpacks" to over 23, 500 American children who's reliance on school meal programs mean they may otherwise not have any, or enough, food on the weekends.
Yesterday, Miley paid a visit to the Hazard Independent School in Hazard, Kentucky to see first hand how the program has helped turn around the lives of the youth, assisting in better test scores, improved reading skills, positive behavior changes, improved heath and increased attendance. Miley found that the program is a success and was pleased to see its progression. “Hazard, in fact all of Appalachia, has always been special to me and to my whole family”, said Cyrus. “It’s where we’re from. So the health and education of these Hazard County kids was important to me, and something I felt I really could help do something about…thru the Blessings In A Backpack organization. I’m really, really happy with what I’ve seen and heard here today. These kids, and this organization, are really amazing.” Before Miley left she personally thanked each of the school-aged volunteers for "getting their own good on" with the program.

The video has already stirred up quite a bit of talk about the Disney Channel princess as she evolves into the next stage of her life. The music video sheds light on a new character named Aves Cyrus as she evolves into a bird and breaks free from her cage. Alas, the evolution of Miley Cyrus has begun with the production wrapping this week on Hannah Montana and her new album dropping in stores on June 22nd. It looks like this is just the beginning of Miley Cyrus!
19 Recordings/Jive Records platinum recording artist Jordin Sparks is preparing to make her Broadway debut this summer alongside Corbin Bleu in the Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical In The Heights. Jordin will join the cast on August 19, 2019 for a limited 12 week engagement through November 14, 2010 playing the new Nina Rosario. "It's always been one of my dreams to perform on Broadway," says Jordin Sparks. "This is a brand new experience for me. I look so forward to spending time in New York City and joining this talented cast and my favorite new musical." The production is being shown at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on West 46th Street. Tickets can be purchased through the Richard Rodgers Box Office or through Ticketmaster.com. Ticket prices range from $41.50 to $121.50.

Taylor Swift is taking over the world one city at a time and yesterday it was all about Auburn, Alabama. Two Auburn University college students, known to fans as Ryan and Michael, developed a website earlier this year called "A HUG From Taylor Swift." What started out as two students creating videos about their dreams of one day hoping to meet Taylor and receive a hug from her, turned into a world-wide effort. The website caught Taylor's eye a few short weeks ago and she proposed a few video challenges that the boys tackled with the help of fans all around the world. Yesterday, over three hundred enthusiastic fans appeared at a Taylor Swift karaoke party held at the university and was supposedly the next "challenge" from Taylor. As it turned out, the gathering was actually a surprise concert by none other than the fearless singer herself. Taylor walked into the room wearing "AHUGfor Ryan and Michael" t-shirt delivering hugs, front row tickets and a special live concert for all in attendance. Even Taylor's entire band was clad in Auburn University apparel. Check out this video of Taylor's surprise visit!

Hollywood Teen'Zine was invited to The Grove yesterday to see Katelyn Tarver, Kate Voegele and Jordin Sparks perform a free show for the fans, who were lined up for several hours before to ensure their front row position at the concert! Immediatey after the show ended fans rushed over to Barnes and Noble where they hoped to be one of the lucky few to get up close and personal with these fabulous young ladies! The line wrapped around two of the three levels of the store and out into the courtyward area. Jordin, Katelyn and Kate signed as many autographes as they could for the fans and occasionally glanced back through the window to wave to the onlooking crowd in the courtyard.

This summer will be blazing hot as Jordin Sparks hits the road for her first ever headling tour appropriately named Battlefield and she won't be without good company! Jordin will be briinging along fellow recording artist Kate Voegele with her on the road, which will make for one sizzling sweet concert!
