Lucas Cruikshank is just your average high school guy, who lives in Nebraska and has to deal with all of the normal things that every other teenager does like homework, friends, parents, and oh yah did we mention a nationally popular YouTube series, a soon to be released Christmas album, a movie based on his ever so comical character Fred, and a People’s Choice Nomination.  Lucas has “always been creating characters like Fred,” he spilled during our interview.  Growing up he always used his family and close friends to create different kinds of characters, which one day turned into a regularly viewed series YouTube and has been racking up viewings ever since.

Elliott Yamin was born destined to become an American Idol superstar, but it seemed as though that dream shattered when he placed 3rd in the fifth season of American Idol.  But that was nowhere near the case!  Since he left American Idol, there has been little that has held him back!  He has been fast at work over the past several years and believe it or not has bottle rocketed his career from the American Idol stage into a worldwide music phenomenon.

Shea Fisher has hit the country music world head on and given the music charts a new name and a unique musical style to become familiar with.  Shea hasn’t always been the singer that she is now; she actually grew up in a rodeo family.  “I didn’t grow up singing.  My dad is a night time restraining bull champion and my mom is a barrel racing champion,” Shea confessed.  Shea followed in her mother’s footsteps and began barrel racing before she hit double digits.  But it wasn’t until her family moved to the United States when she was 10 years old that Shea was introduced to the music scene.  “Country music or music in general isn’t as big in Australia, so when I came here I was kind of bombarded with it from every different radio station.  When I returned home to Australia, I started entering talent quests and singing the National Anthem at rodeos,” Shea said.  As soon as she went back to Australia she made the decision to see what these newfound musical interests had to offer her. 

What started out as a passion has quickly become the flame to singer/songwriter Savannah Outen’s musical journey.   Savannah began singing at the age of two, but it wasn’t until the launch of her YouTube account that she was given the opportunity to bring reality to the dreams she had when music was just a hobby!   Savannah created her YouTube account two years ago and began teaching herself how to play her favorite songs from the radio on the guitar.   Her music genius shines through as Savannah admits that her YouTube covers have all be taught by ear, meaning no sheet music or tabs are present when she learns to play the songs she posts.  “I always do it by ear,” she recently told us.  “I don’t know how to read music at all.”  (More Inside)

Veronica Ballestrini has taken MySpace by storm through her music and created a heap of fans by captivating them with her voice and her quite original song lyrics. At the young age of 13, Veronica posted a few cover songs by Martina McBride on her personal music MySpace account, never expecting to receive the response she got.  "I put up cover songs, just wondering what people would think of my voice,” Veronica told us during our interview.   The response she received through MySpace was so overwhelming that it gave her the confidence and desire to pursue a career as a country music artist.  “I saw people liked it and saw that I could touch people’s lives,” she explained.  “Just having people support me on there has definitely helped, and made me want to go further and further.  It’s a really cool experience because people can relate to me.  Girls my age are like, ’I’m 17 years old too and I need a 17 year olds’ advice’.   They ask me about guy advice, and I’m really not good at guy advice. But, they can relate to my music, so it’s really cool.” (More Inside)

If anyone ever says that country music comes from the south they haven’t met Travis Rush yet.  Travis, a native of Gold Beach, Oregon, has marked his talent in the country music world and proved that you don't have to live in the south to be a great country singer.  As a teenager his interest in country music was initiated by his father who listened to singers like; Kenney Rogers and Dolly Parton.  Although his father introduced him to country through these artists, being a teenager, Travis found that he was partial to the adult contemporary side of country.   As he got older, the music became more than just something to listen to, instead Travis listened to the stories that country music told and was able to identify with them because he experienced the stories in his own life.  This opened the door to a whole new appreciation and interest for country music in his life. (More Inside)

PureNRG, a Christian based band, truly gives life to its name!  The band is comprised of 14-year-olds, Caroline & Carolyne, and 16-year-old Jordan, all of whose extraordinary talent for singing and dancing has brought fire onto their stage and created a whole new level of live entertainment.  Hollywood Teen’Zine was able to catch up with Caroline of PureNRG to find out where she got her start and what has been the driving force of their band.

If you thought the Olsen twins were a dynamic duo wait till you meet Kate & Kacey Coppola.  These identical twins have just started their journey down the road of the country music industry and are enjoying every second of the ride. (More Inside)

Comprised of members Stephen Barker Liles, Brian Bandas and Eric Gunderson, Love & Theft are one of country music's hottest acts on the rise in 2009.  The band formed when Stephen, Brian and Eric met through mutual friends in Nashville, and after a few writing sessions they all agreed that there was no question whether or not they should stick together as a band.  "I got together with him (Stephen) to write through Robert Ellis Orrall, who became one of the co-producers on our album," Brian shared with us during our interview.  "Ultimately, we all got together and we were writing together, and the chemistry was immediate and obvious and very special." 

Earlier this year we introduced to you a talented group of musicians who had recently formed a band that we thought was the band to watch for in 2009.   Fast forward to six months later (and we really do mean fast forward) and Gloriana has already landed a spot on one of the hottest tours of the summer, made their debut at the ACM Awards and received three CMT Award nominations, clinching their first CMT Award under the Nationwide On Your Side category.  What makes this even more special is that all of these acclamations took place prior to the band releasing an album.  The sound of great music and the promise of more to come is what catapulted Gloriana’s career sending them on a whirlwind ride throughout the United States and Canada alongside teen sensation Taylor Swift.   Hollywood Teen’Zine recently caught up with Cheyenne Kimball, Rachel Reinert, Tom Gossin and Mike Gossin during their Fearless tour stop in Los Angeles to get the scoop on how their life has changed since joining the tour.

Growing up in the shadow of two of country music’s most iconic figures could have provided an easy pathway for the daughter of Hank Williams, Jr. and granddaughter of Hank Williams, Sr. to follow in their footsteps, but Holly Williams took a giant leap forward and decided to tackle the intricacies of the music business solely on her own.  “My management, my label, my first album - everything I’ve done totally on my own,” Holly tells us.  “I started my own website and drove my mom’s suburban all over the country touring.”  While the road to success proved to be a difficult task, Holly embraced the challenge and is finally reaping the rewards from the years of hard work. 

Joey & Rory are a husband and wife duo featuring Rory Lee Feek and Joey Martin Feek.  When the two met at the Nashville hotspot Blue Bird Café, a uniquely entertaining creation had formed with a sultry country songstress and comedic farmboy songwriter. “He was doing a songwriter’s night, and I sat there, and listened to him sing, and listened to his songs, and said to myself, ‘that’s the man I want to spend the rest of my life with someday,’” Joey said recalling the night they met.  “I was chasing a dream of being a songwriter and she was chasing her dream of being a singer,” Rory adds. “It’s like when two separate dreams collide, this is sort of the product of it, and it’s bigger than we imagined.”  What a perfect collision they have made.  (Read More)

Young Allisyn Ashley Arm got her start in Hollywood by taking acting classes with Lynn Marx, participating in theatre productions and doing a bunch of student films.  The first acting job she booked was for a Bounty commercial that never aired.  “I remember how excited I was like when I booked my first commercial,” Allisyn recalls.  The fact that her first commercial never aired didn’t stop this driven starlet from pursuing her dream, she immediately started landing guest starring roles on popular television series such as “Strong Medicine,” “Friends,” and “Judging Amy,” and in films like “Man of the House” and “King of California” with Twilight’s Ashley Greene.

Her presence on stage was so profound that her career as an actress began to rapidly grow.  It wasn’t very long before Stefanie landed her very first acting job, a commercial for Papa John’s Pizza.  “It was for fiesta pizza,” Stefanie told us.  “We had to eat it like 30 times.”  Her career has been on fire ever since.  While on-camera acting is currently taking precedence in Stefanie’s life, she wouldn’t mind seeing her name in the big lights and hopes to spend some time in New York doing theatre.  “My goal is to be Elle Woods in the Legally Blonde movie on Broadway,” she confesses.

Jadagrace can officially be referred to as the ultimate triple threat in Hollywood.  Not only has she proven to have star quality making her debut in this week’s release of “Terminator Salvation,” but she also is a trained singer and dancer.  “My favorite is probably jazz,” Jadagrace descibes her favorite style of dance.  When she’s not in the dance studio or on set filming, Jadagrace can probably be found with a pen and paper in hand writing lyrics for a song, or with a video camera and a few friends choreographing dance moves to go along with the song she just wrote.  “I’m working on making a dance to ‘Express Yourself,’” she tells us.  (Read More)

It would be fitting to say that a fellow “Britney” was responsible for setting Brittany Curran’s acting career in motion.   At age nine, Brittany attended a concert of the young pop starlet Britney Spears with her father when she noticed an advertisement for acting class.  After taking class for approximately two years she traveled to Los Angeles to see what the world of entertainment had to offer.  "I went to a convention in Los Angeles and I got discovered by an agent and a manager," Brittany recalls.  "They wanted us to move out here."  (more inside)

You may recall seeing this familiar face on various episodes of Hannah Montana, now you can see RJ Mitte shaking things up every week on AMC's hit television series Breaking Bad. Gaining much recognition for his realistic portrayal of Walter White, Jr., RJ is quickly emerging as one of Hollywood's most talented young actors.

Watching Even Stevens was one of the things that sent Matt into the direction of becoming an actor.  “I was watching Shia LaBeouf and thinking ‘wow, I really want to be like that,’” he confessed to us.  “I wanted to entertain people.”  Matt immediately began auditioning for school plays landing roles in popular shows such as Guys and Dolls and Footloose, but his dreams of entertaining came to fruition last year when he was cast to play Ryan on a new Nickelodeon pilot called True Jackson, VP.

Like many of today's young stars, Haley Ramm got her start in showbiz at a young age while growing up in Dallas, Texas.  "I started acting when I was six," Haley explains to us.  “I took a lot of the classes in Dallas, and I started doing some short films and commercials.”  One of the first commercials she booked was for the Hasbro Company . . .  (more inside)
